Blame is often a default reaction when we think we are right. But blaming doesn’t add any value. It does not resolve the issue. It makes us feel better in the moment, but long-term we are without a resolution.
When we blame, we miss out in many ways. We forgo the opportunity to learn something new, to have a different, maybe even better experience and to invite change into our life. Blaming keeps us in the same spot. It conjures up a lot of expectations, most of which will never be met.
So why not try to understand instead of blame? Take a step towards the other person and see if there is a common ground you can meet and agree upon. It is so much more productive.
