What’s possible?

Have you ever wondered what your potential is?
What could truly be possible for you in this lifetime?
I’m not just talking about success or wealth, but something deeper—about reach and growth. I ask myself questions like these:

  • Who could I become? Because I see so many ways I could be better—kinder, more empathetic, more grounded. But how much change is actually possible for someone like me?
  • What experiences are still waiting for me? I think about the places I could visit—or live. Work I could do. Skills I could learn.
  • And how much of a difference could I make in this world? Because I don’t believe we’re here just to make life comfortable for ourselves. I believe we’re here to add—to contribute, to offer something of value to others.

But the truth is, most of the time I’m too caught up in the minutiae of daily life to ask these questions. They can feel almost too luxurious to entertain when the focus is on making a living, solving problems, getting through the day.

And yet…

What if our potential is just around the next corner?
What if it’s not an explosion, but a trail of small breadcrumbs—like Hansel and Gretel finding their way back home?
What if potential reveals itself not in sweeping breakthroughs, but in quiet steps toward what we secretly desire?

I believe realizing our potential begins with curiosity, continues with effort, and comes alive with resilience. It requires us to stop defining what’s possible based on what we’ve already done—and start imagining what could be if we stretched. Too often, a lack of self-worth clouds our ability to believe in something beyond the ordinary. And yet, our lives are full of evidence—big and small—that we can change. We have changed. We’ve taken risks, made bold choices, created things we never thought we could.

And there’s more of that in store for us— if we allow ourselves to explore what’s possible.

  • I start by getting curious about what I want, with questions like I listed above.  Because desire isn’t random. It’s a compass pointing us toward something real and meaningful.
  • A lot of effort will bring some failures.  But extraordinary things don’t happen overnight. Failure isn’t the end—it’s just a chapter with tension.
  • Resilience is the gateway towards realizing our potential. It’s the decision not to give up at the first sign of difficulty. The more we learn to manage setbacks, the more we discover what we’re made of.

And when we commit to growth—and to discomfort—we begin to change.
Slowly, we head in a new direction. And slowly, life begins to shift toward the version we’ve been quietly dreaming of.

So let your desire fuel your effort.
Give yourself permission to be surprised—and delighted—by what you’re capable of.

Warmly,
Janine
