Episode 592 – A mothers story

  • Welcome
  • Today I am honored to bring you very special Quest Story
  • Just when I think the stories I bring you cannot get more powerful, more moving, more life changing, the next one is just that
  • More
  • My conversation with Marilyn Washington Harris was not easy
    • It probably wasn’t easy for Marylin to share it ,
    • And it was hard for me because I didn’t know what to ask
      • Didn’t even want to ask
    • I just wanted to listen
    • And you will find yourself doing the same
    • I didn’t want interrupt
    • Because this is a special story that really doesn’t need any questions
    • Its Marilyn’s story
      • A story of a mother who loves her son
    • I thought long and hard about this one sentence
    • Because in the following conversation you will hear about the tragic loss of her son
    • But I didn’t want to call it a story of loss
    • Because that’s not what it is
    • It’s a story of love
      • The love of a mother who does everything in her power even after everyone else would give up
      • The love of friends that are standing by her side no matter what
      • The love for God and the trust that he knows what we need
      • And a love for everyone else who goes through something similar
    • Marylin has taught me that its not just about me
    • She has shown me, no matter how difficult an obstacle I may face, it doesn’t end with pain
    • Instead, pain is the fuel to move us forward, onward and out into something more
    • Its inside that pain that we may see the next step
    • And its is often by helping others that we find a way to live with our pain
    • My friends
    • I invite you to listen today
    • To a mothers story of love
    • And I invite you to then take a look at your life and check yourself where you have stopped because of pain
    • And maybe you go right back there, where you stopped
    • And you find a way to start again
    • A way to move forward, together with your pain
    • And with love
    • I am linking to Marilyn’s foundation named after her son
      • The Khadafy Washington Project which provides critical response to families and friends of homicide victims in my show notes
    • Marylin is in the process of launching a podcast with the same title – a mothers story
    • As soon as I have more detail on that – I will share it with you
    • In the meantime
    • Please join me in this moving and inspiring conversation with Marylin Washington Harris
    • And don’t forget to share this episode with a friend who may need to hear it

Much love

The moments that are bigger than us tend to lead us into many directions – hiding, frantically searching for answers, or we feel overwhelmed. Yet, the direction for our life comes from within us.
